May 16, 2023, marks the beginning of a new era in the history of Burundi’s mining industry as we officially hand over the first and biggest gold processing plant to SOTB Burundi in the presence of His Excellency, the Honorable Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca. Great appreciation to Nesch Mintech Tanzania limited Laboratory and its engineering team for the magnificent work in ensuring the initiation, development, and complete set up of the gold processing plant on time and to the expected standard that allows SOTB to be recognized as a model for the development of the mining industry in Burundi.
Nesch Mintech Director and COO, Mr. Happiness Nesvinga (MAusIMM) expressed his joy during the handover process and encouraged the government of Burundi to continue exploring opportunities in the extraction of mineral resources available in Burundi. “Nesch Mintech is dedicated to supporting African communities by ensuring appropriate low-cost technology is made available to all mining companies who need to venture into the mining industry through their strategically located laboratory in Tanzania equipped to support analytical services critical to the development of any mining project with services such as metallurgical testing, fire assay, plant design, and optimization available.”
The success of all mining projects depends entirely on the use of accredited laboratories and Nesch Mintech is an ISO17025 accredited laboratory in Tanzania.
